Our Story

HOW THIS ALL CAME TO BE

The simplified version is that we had this idea for over 20 plus years and decided to finally act on our dream, but there’s a lot more to it than that. After getting out of the military, Brian settled down in San Antonio, TX and married Jen. Brian made it a goal to share his love of craft beer with Jen and it grew from there. We had always talked about opening something like Cody Craft Brewing, but as we all know, life happens. Fast forward to 2019 when we were living in Fort Collins, CO due to our jobs. Brian grew up around craft beer in northern Minnesota and being in Fort Collins re-lit that desire to open something of our own! So, while enjoying a pint at a local favorite brewery, we decided this was going to happen, and we wanted it to happen in our favorite spot in Wyoming. Cody Craft Brewing opened in 2021. Cody is our home, and we couldn’t be happier to offer up the highest quality beer in a fun, relaxing location to our neighbors.

ABOUT THE BEER

Our beer is brewed onsite here in our taproom with one goal. Quality. This means we always use the freshest and highest quality ingredients. Cody Craft Brewing always looks to “keep it local” whenever we can, using locally grown or sourced ingredients in our brewing process. Quality is something we do not, nor ever will, compromise on. We don’t bring our beer in from other towns and claim it to be “from Cody”.

Cody Craft Brewing is also all about having fun in the brewing process! We’ll try all sorts of new beers, new flavors, and are excited to share this with our friends and family. After all, brewing is just as much art as it is science. We have one of the best brewers out there today, and he takes great pride in sharing his art with our visitors!

ABOUT THE BREWERY

As you’ll quickly find out, Cody Craft Brewing is referred to as “The Brewery” by locals. Cody Craft Brewing is a family friendly & dog friendly taproom. You'll find us in the old Thriftway grocery store on Sheridan Ave, which dates back to the late 1950's. With views of Heart Mountain to the north and the 210+ days of sunshine, there's never a bad time to grab a beer and sit out on our patio. Inside the brewery, you'll find corn-hole, games for the little ones, a view into our production brewhouse, seating for small & large parties alike, and an open & inviting taproom. We’ll have food trucks when available, and always, we welcome outside food! We hope you find our spot as relaxing and comfortable as we intended to make it, and we hope to share a pint with you soon!

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  1. How big of a brewing system do you have?

Cody Craft Brewing has a 7BBL brewhouse, with room to grow! Our tanks are US made and come from Rocky Mountain Vessels out of Montrose, Colorado.

  2. Will you make “xyz” beer?

We’re continually evaluating what beers we brew and offer. We know there are a lot of great beers out there and we value the suggestions our patrons provide to us! So while you may not see a certain style of beer on tap today, it doesn’t mean it won’t be in the future. We’re always changing things up and trying out new recipes. Variety is the spice of life, right?

  3. Do you have food?

We don’t have a kitchen at Cody Craft Brewing — we’re brewers, not chefs. There are plenty of great food options in Cody, and you are welcome to BRING YOUR OWN FOOD or ORDER DELIVERY!

Currently, we offer a variety of potato chips and pretzels to crunch on while you enjoy our tasty craft brews.

From time to time, we host local food trucks. Check out our Facebook or Instagram to get details on the food trucks and what they’re bringing out. It’s likely AMAZING!

  4. Do you offer tours of your brewhouse?

Absolutely! Give us a call to schedule a tour and we’d be happy to show you how we make the best beer you’ve had!

  5. Where can I find your beer?

In our taproom or at restaurants and bars around the Bighorn Basin! Check out the map above for locations to find our brews!

  6. Do you have a full bar?

No, Cody Craft Brewing only offers craft beer brewed onsite here in our Cody, Wyoming location.

  7. Is Cody Craft Brewing family friendly?

Absolutely! A visit to the taproom is a fun family experience and we offer non-alcoholic drinks for the under-21 crowd as well as games to keep the little ones occupied! We ask that children remain with their parents / guardians or under direct supervision.

  8. Are dogs allowed in the taproom?

Well-behaved dogs who remain on a leash and under their parent’s control are always welcomed in the taproom!

  9. Can I bring in my own alcoholic beverages?

Alcohol purchased outside of our taproom is not allowed onsite.

  10. Can I get beer to go?

You bet! We offer 32oz Crowlers & 64oz Growlers to go. We will fill anyone’s Growler glass too. Now, you may be asking…what is a Crowler? Also known as a ‘Cantainer’, the Crowler is a 32oz can that is filled and sealed on-demand. The 32oz can is purged with CO2 and filled upon ordering. The benefits of a Crowler are many, but the shelf life is the biggest factor! 2 to 3 weeks as opposed to a few days for a Growler. Plus, if you’re traveling to a location glass is not allowed, you’re still able to bring craft beer along with you!
